Ruben Onsu paid his last respects to Sarwendah's father, who passed away on July 19, 2025. However, he, who was present on July 20, 2025, ultimately decided to provide clarification through his social media account, denying the narrative that painted him as "arriving late" without reason.
He received the news of Sarwendah's father's passing from their adopted child, Betrand Peto (Onyo), and immediately sought a flight home from Bali to Jakarta. His departure ticket was also uploaded via his Instagram account to provide clear evidence.
"I asked my team to find a ticket for an earlier return because my trip to Bali was round trip, but I couldn't get a ticket to advance the time. My return flight was at 21:30 WITA and was delayed to 22:30 WITA." Ruben Onsu wrote as in his Instagram post.
After a night flight, Ruben arrived in Jakarta around 11:30 PM WIB. He briefly went home to drop off his belongings before continuing his journey to the funeral home at Grand Heaven.
Ruben ensured that he went to the funeral home that very night, precisely at 12:45 AM WIB. There, he met Denis, Sarwendah's youngest sibling.
"I arrived in Jakarta at 11:30 PM WIB, I dropped off my things first, then went to the funeral home at 12:45 AM WIB where I met Denis, Yeye's youngest child." He explained.
This was evidenced by visual documentation shared through his official Instagram account during his visit to the funeral home to pay his last respects to Sarwendah's father.
In one of the portraits, Ruben Onsu appears to be standing near the coffin with teary eyes. He shows a deep expression of sorrow over the passing of Sarwendah's father, even though his relationship with the artist has ended.
