Ruben Onsu Shooting FTV and Religious Song Music Video in Mecca, Only Using a Mobile Phone

"Yes, so there’s an FTV project, and then there’s a religious song. So, it was supposed to be shot in Jakarta, but Mas Adit said to shoot it there and just use a mobile phone. That's it, but relaxed. When it’s time to pray, we pray, then continue again," said Ruben Onsu when met at Soekarno-Hatta airport, Thursday (12/2/2026).

1. Not Confident to Sing

Although involved in a religious song project, Ruben admitted that he felt a lack of confidence when asked to sing. He felt that his vocal abilities were not comparable to his experience as a professional host.

"I would rather be asked to be an MC (talk) for 70 hours than to sing, I swear. Oh, I know my limits, but because I have a lot of respect for him, he encouraged me," he said while laughing.

Regarding the song, Ruben explained that its content carries a message of good outreach that is very suitable for the wider community, especially in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan.

"But the point is outreach in our own way. The song is about learning to read the Quran, something like that. Hopefully, it will be good," Ruben explained.

In addition to the music video, Ruben was also leaked to be acting alongside several famous stars in the FTV project, which is being done very flexibly.

"Basically, later in Jakarta, the scene will be where I become Paramita Rusadi's older brother, 'Huh? Which FTV is this?' how come I don't know. But it's fun, walking with him because he has so many works, so I'm happy," concluded Ruben Onsu.
