Ruben Onsu's Lawyer Changes, Complainant's Attorney Claims Two Meetings

Kapanlagi.com - The case of alleged fraud and embezzlement involving Ruben Onsu (RSO) at the South Jakarta Metro Police continues to unfold. Amid this process, the complainant's attorney, Ahmad Ramzy, revealed that there have been repeated meetings with Ruben's legal counsel, as well as a change of legal representation on the reported side.

"Yes, the lawyer has come to see me several times, twice," said Ahmad Ramzy in South Jakarta, Thursday (27/8).

Ramzy stated that the meetings with Ruben's legal counsel have not been limited to just once. According to him, such communications have occurred several times since the report was made, including the most recent meeting that took place this week.

1. Recurring Meetings with Ruben Onsu's Party

Ahmad Ramzy explained that he was approached by a legal representative of Ruben Onsu on more than one occasion. He emphasized that the intention of this communication has been ongoing since the case first emerged.

"But I see, I said, the legal representative had also previously come to me, approached me as well," he explained.

He added that meetings with Ruben's legal counsel occurred not only at the beginning of the case but continued through this week. However, Ramzy emphasized that these visits were still limited to initial discussions without any real follow-up at the implementation level.

2. Change of Legal Counsel Mid-Process

On the other hand, the lawyer who recently met with him is no longer the same legal advisor as at the initial stage of the case. This change is also reflected in the legal administration, with Ruben Onsu's latest legal counsel officially submitting a power of attorney to the investigator on Monday (24/8/2026).

Although he has received visits from Ruben's legal advisors twice, Ahmad Ramzy stated that there has been no concrete realization from these discussions.

"But again, the realization can be executed not just by having a legal representative. Perhaps the legal representative or whoever wants to resolve it, but until now, there has been no realization," he said.

When asked further about the content of the meetings, including the possibility of a payment restructuring scheme, Ramzy mentioned that the new interlocutor only expressed intentions without any follow-up steps.

"Yes, everything has been conveyed, but if it’s just conveying, what can I tell the client, right?" he explained.

3. Case Development and Investigation Agenda

This case began with a police report made on August 22, 2025. After going through a series of initial processes, the case officially escalated to an investigation status on April 15, 2026.

The case reported as an alleged investment fraud is still ongoing at the South Jakarta Metro Police. A follow-up examination agenda for Ruben Onsu has been scheduled in the near future by the police.

So far, the mediation process that was conducted has not yielded concrete results. The reporting party, through their legal representative, stated that they are still waiting for tangible actions that can be legally accountable from the meetings that have taken place.
