Salty Fish Trio Requests Relocation of Court Session, Prosecutor Requests Judge to Reject the Request

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of Salty Fish at the South Jakarta District Court with the agenda of the exception response session ended with a rejection by the prosecutor. The prosecutor, Donny M Sany, explained why this could happen.

"The District Court, in adjudicating a case, applies Article 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), where there are exceptions for the District Court in examining and adjudicating a case," said Donny in the trial.

As known, the defendants in the defamation case, Rey Utami, Pablo Benua, and Galih Ginanjar, along with their legal team, want the trial process to be transferred to the Cibinong District Court in Bogor, West Java.

1. The Prosecution Objects

After considering, the Prosecution concludes its objection to the exception submitted by the Trio Ikan Asin. The result will be included in the interim decision, which will take place in the next week's trial.

"Based on our opinion as the public prosecutor regarding the mentioned exception. We conclude, in order for the panel of judges to agree with us, that there is an objection to the exception by Pablo Putra Benua, Rey Utami, through their legal representative," he said in the trial, Monday (13-1).

Donny added that there are considerations to be taken into account. In this case, there are conflicting considerations, such as the fact that the process has been underway in the South Jakarta Police, which is located in South Jakarta, but various witnesses come from different places.

2. More Witnesses in Bogor

The reason for transferring the judicial process from the South Jakarta District Court to the Cibinong District Court, as revealed by the Trio Ikan Asin, is because there are more witnesses residing in the Bogor area and its surroundings.

"We, the public prosecutors, strongly disagree, because the legal counsel is mistaken, where the legal counsel has confused the position of witnesses and defendants in the trial," he said.
