Sarwendah Attends the Casket Closing Ceremony for Her Late Father, Eyes Glimmering with Tears Holding Back Sobs

A touching and solemn atmosphere enveloped the Grand Heaven Pluit Funeral Home, North Jakarta, on Monday (21/7/2025) morning. Singer and entrepreneur Sarwendah, along with her extended family, held a casket closing ceremony for her beloved father, the late Hendrik Lo.

The ceremony, which started around 08:55 WIB, was attended by immediate family and close relatives who came to pay their last respects. The proceedings were conducted solemnly, led by two monks who chanted prayers to accompany the deceased's departure.

Sarwendah, who is affectionately called Wenda, appeared to be trying to stay strong throughout the ceremony. Wearing a simple white t-shirt and black pants, she stood among family, attempting to hold back her deep sorrow as the ritual took place.

Despite trying to be strong, the former wife of Ruben Onsu could not hide her grief. Her eyes were visibly teary as she and her family performed the ritual of circling the coffin, while clasping their hands together to offer prayers.

The peak of uncontrollable sadness came when the coffin of her father began to be closed. Sarwendah's previously strong expression suddenly changed to one of deep sorrow, as she gazed for the last time at the figure of her father who had raised her.

However, amid her grief, Sarwendah showed extraordinary strength. After the coffin closing ceremony was completed, she appeared to blend in and even comfort another family member who was sobbing, as if wanting to ensure that everyone could support one another.

Support for Sarwendah also came from her brother-in-law, Jordi Onsu, as well as Giorgio Antonio. Both were seen present to pay their last respects and accompany the grieving family.

After the coffin closing ceremony, the body of the late Hendrik Lo was not immediately cremated. The family has planned a cremation ceremony to be held on Wednesday (23/7/2025) at 11:18 AM WIB.

As reported earlier, Hendrik Lo took his last breath on Saturday (19/7/2025) at 08:18 WIB in the hospital. He passed away after battling complications from the illness he suffered.The late Hendrik Lo died at the age of 65 due to complications from kidney failure, heart issues, and respiratory problems. He is survived by his wife, Rospita Tjoa, and three children, including Sarwendah.
