Sarwendah Attends the Continued Mediation Hearing for Child Custody, Ruben Onsu Absent

1. Explanation from the Legal Counsel Regarding Ruben Onsu's Absence

The absence of Ruben Onsu was confirmed by his lawyer, William Rando. He explained that his client was unable to attend due to another commitment that conflicted with the latest mediation schedule.

"Our client is unable to attend because of an interest, which actually is a sudden change of date due to the cancellation from last week, yes, when the mediator suddenly canceled the mediation last Thursday," said Ruben Onsu's lawyer, William Rando, when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (12/8/2026).

"Then we received the notice for this Wednesday from last Friday. So suddenly it clashed with our client's interest," he continued.

William emphasized that they had submitted an official notification to the court regarding the situation and proposed the next schedule.

"So because this mediation is in principle in accordance with Perma 1 2016, which states that the principal must be present, today we represent our client, we cannot attend the mediation today. Then we have submitted a letter to the mediator yesterday, which has been received by the South Jakarta District Court in the mediation section that we cannot attend today and we have rescheduled it for next week on Tuesday," William explained.

2. Sarwendah's Presence and Her Hopes in Mediation

Unlike Ruben, Sarwendah arrived earlier. She was seen arriving at the South Jakarta District Court at 09:37 WIB to attend the mediation process, which was then postponed.

"Pray for the best. I hope everything goes smoothly," said Sarwendah.

When asked about Ruben's absence, Sarwendah did not elaborate further. "This is a court matter, not a matter of feelings," Sarwendah asserted.

3. Discipline in Attendance and Child Matters Before the Hearing

Sarwendah stated that she always responds to court summons whenever she receives an official letter. She ensures to arrive on time according to the court schedule.

Before heading to court, Sarwendah prioritizes her children's needs. She prepares their necessities and takes them to school first.

"As a good citizen, I receive the letter, so I come. In the morning, I also prepare everything for the kids and take them to school before coming here," concluded Sarwendah.
