Through the same research, it is also known that the most purchased product category is fashion and accessories (85%); beauty, care & health (54%); lifestyle (41%); household needs (33%); everyday products/FMCG (32%); electronics (25%); and mother and child/baby needs (16%).
Well, to complement the finding of the high enthusiasm of the community in using the live shopping feature to buy fashion and beauty products, Populix also found that Shopee Live is the most frequently used live streaming feature for purchasing Fashion & Beauty items. For the Fashion category, Shopee Live is used by 79% of respondents, making TikTok Live as a new player unable to compete with a result of 44%.
The same goes for the Beauty category, Shopee Live is used by 71%, much higher than TikTok Live (51%) which fails to catch up with Shopee's position. This is in line with the data that shows Shopee Live occupies the first position in the most preferred brand/feature indicator of live streaming, where Shopee Live becomes the main choice of respondents (66%), while TikTok Live (28%) has not been able to catch up with its lag.
From the research data, it can be concluded that Shopee still leads the competition in the e-commerce industry, both in a broader sense and when focused on the live streaming shopping feature. With the preferences of users, especially the categories of products that are most purchased on Shopee Live, it becomes a big boost for Sarwendah.
