Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison, Here are 8 Portraits of Zul Zivilia Still Creating in Detention - Telling a Different Recording Process

Kapanlagi.com - Zul Zivilia successfully released his musical work created from within the prison. As is known, Zul Zivilia was sentenced to 18 years in prison after being proven involved in a drug trafficking case.

Thanks to the collaboration with Kartamakala, the songs he created while in prison can now be enjoyed by the public. The latest release is a song titled "Setia Walau Tak di Sampingmu".

"Inside this prison, there are quite a few [songs], but this is the first time the prison has been able to collaborate with Kartamakala, so my work can be published," said Zul at the Special Class IIA Gunung Sindur Prison, Bogor, Tuesday (5/11/2024).

The process of recording these songs is not easy. Zul revealed that out of the many songs he has written, only three songs have been successfully produced so far. This is due to the limited facilities within the prison.

"This is indeed a process, because friends from outside have to bring recording equipment here, and everything can happen because the prison authorities granted permission for voice recording here," he said.

Wahyu Indarto, as the Head of the Special Class IIA Gunung Sindur Prison, fully supports this positive activity. Wahyu sees the great potential that Zul has and strives to help develop his talent even while being in limitations.

"I see that Zul not only has potential, but his sentence is also long. This means that by serving a long sentence, without creativity, without developing personal potential, there is a concern that Mr. Zul may become depressed," he said.

Wahyu hopes that works such as songs and music videos created by Zul can inspire other inmates to remain productive.

"That's where I thought, why don't we develop Bang Zul's potential," he explained.

This production process goes through quite strict procedures, including permits to bring recording equipment into the prison.

"So I fully support what is Pak Zul's potential, by conducting positive activities, namely by creating songs, music videos, and others," Wahyu stated.
