Musician Rayen Pono stated he will report Ahmad Dhani to Bareskrim Mabes Polri on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. This legal action was taken by Rayen after feeling that his family was very offended by the slander against their clan made by Dhani during a debate forum.
Rayen admitted that he had actually forgiven Dhani personally for the slander. However, he decided to pursue legal action because Dhani repeated the name "Rayen Porno" in a public debate, which further angered Rayen's extended family.
"So I have actually forgiven the person who chatted, but Dhani repeated it again during the debate. He repeated Rayen Porno and my family was very angry," said Rayen when contacted by the media on Monday (4/21/2025).
Rayen explained that his family's anger was the main motivation for reporting. He felt he could not remain silent when his family name was humiliated in public, especially since his family did not have the resources to fight back.
"My family was very angry and in the end, I thought at that moment that it was just my family who was suing, but the reality is my family is in the village and doesn't have resources, right? So in the end, I can defend my friends at VISI, but why can't I defend my family? I thought a lot about that," he said.
According to Rayen, this decision was made after a long contemplation. He admitted to experiencing a moral conflict, but ultimately felt he had to take decisive action for the honor of his family.
"So I've had my own moral conflict these past few days thinking about it, and in the end, I had to make this decision because my family has been very offended and angry," he added.
Rayen also emphasized that he no longer wants an apology from Ahmad Dhani. He feels that an apology is no longer relevant because the perpetrator is considered to have belittled his family's feelings.
