1. Contact Cinta Kuya

According to her, the condition of the house that had been in disarray made the survival of the pets a primary concern. She and several of her colleagues were worried that the cats would not receive adequate care amid the emergency situation.

The rescue effort began when Sherina and her colleague, Indira, contacted Uya Kuya's daughter, Cinta Kuya, via direct message (DM) on Instagram.

In the message, they offered assistance to evacuate and care for the Kuya family's cats until the situation returned to normal. According to Sherina, communication went well, and Cinta gave her approval for the animals to be taken and temporarily cared for.

After reaching an agreement, Indira immediately contacted Cinta directly to arrange the pickup logistics. Shortly thereafter, Indira arrived at the location and picked up the five cats. They then took the animals to a veterinary clinic for a thorough medical examination.

The veterinarian's diagnosis was quite surprising. The five cats were found to need intensive medical care and had to be hospitalized. Sherina stated that this step was taken solely to ensure the animals' health, not to take over ownership. She even covered the cost of the treatment.

In her clarification, Sherina also emphasized that her side has never closed off access for Uya Kuya's family to the animals. She and Indira have proactively asked about when the cats would be picked up again. However, according to her, both Cinta Kuya and Uya Kuya have not provided a clear response to the offer of return.

Meanwhile, in her Instagram post, Cinta provided a different statement. She and her family had offered assistance in the form of cat food and inquired about the cost of care. However, she admitted there was a rejection or an unclear response. This situation made her feel increasingly guilty and afraid of being a burden.

Still in her post, Cinta, who is abroad, eventually asked for help from others to take care of her cats. However, this was met with unpleasant responses from Sherina and her friends. According to Cinta, she never officially appointed Sherina and her friends as the complaint center for the missing cats.

The situation became more complicated when the Kuya family reported the case to the police. As a result, Sherina had to undergo questioning as a witness. She stated that she was questioned for hours to explain the background and reasons for her actions. Although it was exhausting, Sherina remained cooperative and answered all the questions from law enforcement officers.

As a resolution, Sherina ultimately agreed to return the five cats to Uya Kuya's family. She emphasized that her intention from the beginning was to protect animal welfare, not to create conflict.
