Show Support, Actor Khiva Iskak Admits He Often Shares with Nadiem Makarim

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Khiva Iskak attended the verdict hearing of former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, in the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of Chromebooks at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Khiva's presence drew attention because he is a cousin of Nadiem's wife, Franka Franklin.

As a family member, Khiva admitted he intentionally came to provide moral support to Nadiem. He has also followed the legal process from the beginning and hopes that the trial will produce a fair verdict.

Khiva also shared his experience of knowing Nadiem since before he founded Gojek. He considers Nadiem to be a person of high integrity and often discusses education with him.

"So I really know Nadiem, even before he founded Gojek. He is a very good person, full of integrity, and his family is also honorable. I know that and I often talk about education with him and gain a lot of insights," he said.

1. Cousin of Nadiem's Wife

Khiva explained that his family's closeness to Nadiem allowed him to know the figure of the Gojek founder long before he was widely recognized as a technology entrepreneur. This became the reason for him to continue providing support amid the ongoing legal proceedings.

"So I came down here because coincidentally Nadiem Makarim's wife is my cousin. So I have indeed been following the trial from the beginning, and I firmly believe that there is no evidence that truly implicates Nadiem," said Khiva.

2. Support for Nadiem

The verdict hearing for Nadiem Makarim was also attended by many supporters wearing white shirts. Several Gojek drivers were also seen coming to show their support. In addition to Khiva Iskak, several public figures such as Riri Riza, Teuku Zacky, Happy Salma, and Igor Saykoji were also present at the trial location.

In this case, Nadiem Makarim along with three other defendants was charged with causing state financial losses amounting to Rp2.1 trillion. The prosecutor also accused Nadiem of enriching himself by Rp809 billion, which was said to have come from Google's investment in Gojek or PT AKAB. Nadiem Makarim was ultimately sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp 1 billion.
