Kapanlagi.com - After winning Miss Grand Indonesia 2021, Sophia Rogan officially departed for Phuket to participate in the Miss Grand International 2021 event. This prestigious beauty pageant will be held in Bangkok on December 4, 2021.
As known, Sophia will continue the relay baton from Aurra Kharishma who represented Indonesia in the Miss Grand International 2020 event. Ivan Gunawan, as the Director of the World Mega Star Foundation and National Director of Miss Grand Indonesia, expressed his confidence that Sophia will be able to speak a lot at the event.
"Preparations for Miss Grand International 2021 have been carried out by me and the team since Sophia served as Miss Grand Indonesia 2021. Various training sessions such as public speaking, QnA pageantry, makeup and hair do training, self-assessment training, social activities, and personal development training have been conducted. So I believe that Sophia is ready and capable of competing with other candidates," said Ivan Gunawan in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.
In addition to professional training, Ivan also equipped Sophia with dozens of outfits to be used during her time in Phuket. "Approximately 50 sets of clothes have been prepared for the MGI 2021 competition. I hope she won't come back, meaning that she will become a winner there," added Igun.
Prior to her departure, Sophia showcased the outfits she will wear at the Miss Grand International 2021 event. In the first session, Sophia successfully impressed the guests by performing an opening dance with dancers wearing outfits from Je Suis Flirt and the choreography by Fabiola Aisha.

Sophia will also showcase a national costume in Miss Grand International titled Bali Sundaram - The Beauty Within Holy Blessing, designed by Inggi Kendran. This outfit is inspired by Balinese women who will perform traditional ceremonies and is made as natural as possible to elevate the beauty of Balinese culture, designed by Inggi Kendran.
The costume consists of a traditional Balinese kemben. In addition, this costume also features a headpiece with Balinese golden accessories. Meanwhile, the preliminary and final evening gown is designed by Wiki Wu.
For the final outfit, Sophia wears a blue-themed evening gown titled Pisces Gown, in accordance with her zodiac sign. The gown has a slit dress model and pearl details resembling water droplets, designed by designer Andhy Kamesa, who is the winner of the evening gown design competition held by the pageant portal 'Bunda Latinas' in collaboration with the Mega Bintang World Foundation.
"This time we involve Denny Wirawan, Iwan Tirta, Ghea Panggabean, Topan Sapta, Wiki Wu, Jullianto, Je Suis Flirt, Active wear from Core Nation, SAS Design, and shoes from Langkah by Lina Lee," added the presenter who also works as a presenter.

Sophia herself admitted that she is proud to represent Indonesia in such a prestigious international event. She stated that she is ready to participate in the event and give her best to bring honor to her country.
"I am very grateful to represent Indonesia in this event. I am very happy to have this opportunity in my life. And I have prepared myself mentally and physically to perform in Miss Grand International 2021," said Sophia confidently.
Ivan Gunawan also agreed that Sophia has a great chance of achieving success in Miss Grand International 2021, considering her thorough preparation. However, Ivan also does not want to burden Sophia with his expectations.
"Enjoy the competition and do your best. Winning or losing is in God's hands, what matters is that we have tried our best. At least, aim to be among the last two standing in the final night," explained Igun.
With various preparations she has made, the girl who follows a vegan lifestyle is confident that she can perform to the fullest and bring honor to her country at Miss Grand International 2021.
"My hope is not only to bring the crown or at least be among the last two standing. But I want to enjoy every moment as a contestant in Miss Grand International 2021. I also want to bring my fans there and make them feel like a part of the selection process," concluded Sophia.
