Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Marshel Widianto officially announced that he has withdrawn from the 2024 Tangsel Pilkada as a candidate for deputy mayor of South Tangerang. Marshel spoke out about this after his prospective partner, Ahmad Riza Patria, announced his withdrawal first.
However, Marshel stated that his hard work with the party in the political arena will not stop. He has also shifted his support to another candidate pair.
"Withdrawing for the progress of Tangsel. Personally, I also want to state that our support and hard work will not be halted until today; we will continue to fight for the victory of Mr. Benyamin Davnie and also Mr. Pilar," said Marshel Widianto when met in the area of South Tangerang, Wednesday (29/8).

Marshel also stated that this decision to step back does not make him regretful. For him, what he has done with his partner will not be in vain.
"But that doesn't mean my journey with Mr. Riza Patria was wasted yesterday, friends, because it was an aspiration and also a direct complaint from the people of South Tangerang," he said.

In addition, Marshel also hopes that the partner he supports can continue the community's aspirations regarding South Tangerang.
"In any case, I will entrust that (community aspirations) to Mr. Benyamin and also to Mr. Pilar, who will be the vice mayor of South Tangerang," he added.
