Story of Rafael Tan's Seblak Business, Flooded with Orders - Homemade Recipe

Kapanlagi.com - Artis Rafael Tan or better known as Rafael SM*SH suddenly went viral on social media because of his seblak recipe that inspired and followed by many people. The SM*SH vocal group member did not expect the seblak content he made to go viral on social media. In fact, it was just for fun at first.

"That was honestly the first time I tried that type of seblak. If now, seblak has been modified, like the broth," said Rafael Tan in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/6/2023).

"Actually, the original seblak is just crackers without any other toppings and using seblak seasoning like garlic. That's why you're speechless and let my followers know if there is seblak like this," added Rafael Tan.

1. Welcomed Enthusiastically

After going viral on social media, Rafael Tan opened a seblak business. So far, Rafael Tan said that his seblak business has been enthusiastically welcomed by the public. In fact, he was overwhelmed because there were so many seblak enthusiasts.

"It's really crowded, I can only accept a maximum of 100 cups for open PO, if there are more, I can't handle it because it takes a lot of pounding, chili peppers, garlic, and kebcur. So, I hired 2 of my friends. The maximum open PO is 100," he said.

2. Own Recipe

Rafael Tan explained that the seblak recipe he has been making is not from anyone else. But, he really made it himself.

"My own recipe, when I first posted the seblak, people asked for the recipe and I shared it. And now, thank God, it can be a blessing for friends who sell seblak, which becomes an additional seblak ala Rafael Tan," said Rafael Tan.

3. From Garut to All Over Indonesia

Until now, Rafael Tan has only opened an offline store in the Garut area. His plan is to open a store in other areas to develop his business.

"Actually, what is currently running, yesterday we were conceptualizing how this seblak can be spread throughout Indonesia, because it's not just that if you go far to Garut, there are places that are far away, Jakarta is also far away," he said.

"So now I want to make instant seblak packaging. So, all my friends in Indonesia can order it," he concluded.
