The incident began when Mohammad Andika Mowardi (32) was walking alone after buying food. He encountered the perpetrator in the office parking area. Without explanation, the perpetrator approached while pulling out his firearm. Then the shooting incident occurred.

Based on reports, the perpetrator is suspected of being involved in criminal acts as regulated in Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning Murder and/or Article 53 of the Criminal Code regarding Attempted Criminal Acts. It could also be Article 1 paragraph 1 of Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning anyone who unlawfully imports, possesses, and uses firearms or explosives.
