After a great victory against Acnologia and Zeref, Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvell, and their pet cats, Happy and Carla, decide to take on the legendary 100 Year Mission. This mission is the only task that no guild has ever been able to complete for a full century. Its goal is to seal the Five Dragon Gods whose powers and existence threaten the world. These Dragon Gods are remnants of ancient dragons that survived the Great Dragon War and are now scattered across various continents, each possessing extraordinary elemental powers.

Their journey takes the strongest Fairy Tail team to the northern continent called Guiltina. There, they face the first Dragon God and also confront a new dark magic guild called Diabolos, which is ambitious to gather and harness the powers of the Dragon Gods.
