The journey begins with a confrontation against Mercphobia, the Water Dragon God in an underwater city reminiscent of Atlantis. Team Natsu is overwhelmed by the enemy's power and the bloodthirsty Dragon Eater.

Meanwhile, at the Fairy Tail headquarters, new member Touka joins, but her secret is revealed; she becomes the host of Faris, the White Mage from a dark magic cult that seeks to erase the source of powerful magic.

Natsu and the team fight desperately against the unstable Mercphobia, facing illusions and devastating attacks. They lose early on but rise again with the typical cooperation of Fairy Tail.

Touka, who has fallen in love with Natsu, is actually seeking the guild's help to break free from the influence of the White Mage who can steal magic and control minds. Gajeel has been suspicious from the start.
