Taufik Hidayat Candidly Talks about Corruption with Deddy Corbuzier at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, KPK Responds

During the conversation, Taufik candidly talked about the corruption that occurred at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which made him disillusioned and decided to quit working in the government. What Taufik said not only opened Deddy Corbuzier's eyes but also amazed netizens with the Olympic champion's bravery.

1. KPK's Response

What Taufik and Deddy discussed certainly reached the ears of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The Acting Spokesperson for KPK's Enforcement, Ali Fikri, promised that they would follow up on the reported issues.

"KPK, in carrying out its duty to eradicate corruption, certainly relies on the participation of the public. Therefore, if anyone knows about allegations of corruption, please report it to KPK with the available data, either through Dumas or the 198 call center," said Ali in a written message on Wednesday (13/5).

2. Taufik Was Summoned by KPK as a Witness

Regarding Taufik's statement during the trial with the defendant, former Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi, Ali stated that it had been recorded by the public prosecutor. He explained that KPK is not ruling out the possibility of further developing the case.

"Based on all the legal facts presented in the trial and after analysis, sufficient preliminary evidence has been found to designate other parties as suspects," Ali explained as quoted by CNN Indonesia.

3. Don't Know About Gratification

Taufik was previously called by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in the trial of Imam Nahrawi, former Minister of Youth and Sports. On that occasion, Taufik admitted that he had indeed acted as an intermediary for Imam's gratification. However, in his conversation with Deddy, Taufik said that he was asked to do it and had no knowledge of the gratification.
