Teaser 'LA TAHZAN' Released, Ariel Tatum Admits She's Frustrated with Her Own Role

The production house MD Pictures finally released the teaser for the film LA TAHZAN on Wednesday (13/3/2025), although it was initially colored by controversy. The 43-second teaser immediately caught the audience's attention by showcasing the dynamics of Alina and Reza's household, which was initially harmonious, before the arrival of Asih, the nanny, brought about significant changes.

The screening of the teaser was enthusiastically welcomed by the cast, including Marshanda, who plays the character Alina. In a press conference at MD Place, Setiabudi, Jakarta, Marshanda likened the conflicts that arise in Alina's household to spices in cooking that are tempting yet also painful.

"The analogy is like this, it's like we're in a room, and our mother is in the kitchen cooking. Then, we smell the aroma of spices, which seems delicious but spicy. So, it can be enjoyed, but it can also be deadly," said Marshanda.

The atmosphere became lighter when Ariel Tatum, who plays Asih, was asked to give her response. Marshanda jokingly referred to Ariel as the "chili spice" that disrupts the harmony of Alina and Reza's household. "Well, here is the chili spice," Marshanda quipped, which was met with laughter from the other cast members.

Ariel did not deny that the character she played had a negative impact on Alina's household. She even felt how strong the effect of Asih's presence in the LA TAHZAN story was

"I felt like when I watched the trailer, I might want to add an analogy that Kak Marshanda mentioned earlier, that it is very true. I also really feel how this chili spice is too much in the dish," explained Ariel Tatum.

It didn't stop there, Ariel admitted that he got carried away with the emotions of the role he played. He felt frustrated with Asih's actions, which triggered the destruction of Alina and Reza's household. "I have never said 'istighfar' this much during the filming of a movie. As Ariel, I felt anxious and angry at Asih," he added.

However, Ariel was reluctant to reveal too much about what Asih did that caused Alina and Reza's relationship to fall apart. He only gave a little glimpse that Asih's character would make the audience feel emotional throughout the film. "If I tell the details, I'm afraid it might spoil it," said Ariel Tatum, while smiling mysteriously.

Ariel ensures that LA TAHZAN will be one of the must-watch films this year. He hopes the viewers can feel the same emotions he experienced while portraying Asih's character. "I can't wait for you all to watch the movie live," he concluded.

In general, LA TAHZAN offers a drama full of intrigue with a mystical touch. This film raises a complex and emotional love triangle story, where Alina, who initially has a harmonious household life, must face the bitter reality when Reza begins to be captivated by Asih, their child's nanny.

The character of Reza is played by Deva Mahenra, who previously successfully made the audience anxious through his role as Aris in IPAR ADALAH MAUT. Deva's captivating acting is believed to further strengthen the conflict within the story.
