Tessy Shares Memories with Her Friend Polo Srimulat, Initially Disbelieving the News of His Death

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Kabul Basuki, or more commonly known as Tessy, took the time to visit the funeral home of his friend, Christian Barata Nugroho, also known as Polo Srimulat. Tessy said she was shocked when she heard the news of Polo's death.

"I was the first one to be informed. I was shocked and didn't believe it at first. I called, and it was true. I shared the news with my friends and groups," Tessy said when interviewed at the funeral home in Kavling Tegal Perintis, Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday (6/3/2024).

1. Remembering the Last Meeting

The lung disease suffered by Polo has long been known by Tessy. Everywhere he went, the late Polo always brought an oxygen gas cylinder to facilitate his breathing.

Tessy still remembers the last meeting with Polo, which took place on March 11, 2024. At that time, the 81-year-old comedian, along with his friends, reminded Polo to stop shooting.

"I and Mas Kadir, Mba Nunung, shot together. He was already seriously ill, but he insisted. I said, 'Let's just not shoot.' (He said) 'I'm already healthy, I'm already healthy,' but he always brought the oxygen cylinder everywhere," said Tessy.

"Not a small oxygen cylinder, a big one. Often friends told him, 'You don't need to shoot anymore.' But he insisted," Tessy added.

2. Prayers for Friends

However, Tessy does not deny that there are many memories she shared with the late Polo. Tessy can only pray that her friend is accepted in God's presence.

"Mas Polo is intelligent and responsible. When it comes to memories, it cannot be discussed. He is very kind," explained Tessy.

"We mourn the loss of our friend. Hopefully, he is accepted in the presence of Allah," Tessy concluded.

As a reminder, Polo passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 12:10 PM WIB. Polo departed at the age of 61 due to a long-standing lung disease.
