Teuku Ryan Challenged When Given an Antagonist Role, Ready to Deepen Character

Kapanlagi.com - After completing the soap opera SALEHA, Teuku Ryan expressed his desire to try new challenges in the acting world. Although known as a calm figure in everyday life, this actor is actually curious to explore darker characters, such as antagonist roles or even characters that seem brutal.

"I actually want whatever is given by Allah. It's called sustenance, right? So I never refuse any job, whatever it is," said Teuku Ryan when met in the Puri Indah area recently.

"But if I am given the opportunity for a film, that would be fine too. If given the opportunity for a stripping role again, Alhamdulillah. So whatever it is, Insya Allah I will take it," added the former husband of Ria Ricis.

1. Antagonist

Ria Ricis's ex-husband admitted that he has never played a villain in his acting career. That’s precisely why he wants to try more challenging characters to hone his acting skills.

"There are so many roles that I have never done. Like being a bad person. I haven't had the chance to play in other weird films either. So maybe, if given the opportunity, I’ll learn to delve into roles like that," he expressed.

2. Wants to Try Many Characters

In fact, this father of one has already discussed with his manager about his desire to try new genres, including horror films or characters with more complex psychological aspects.

"I haven't really (talked directly to the producer), but I have talked to my manager. Like, horror sounds fun, or psycho films, or anything like that. There are still many things I haven't tried," he said.

3. Contradicting His Personality?

Although known as a calm person, Teuku Ryan is not worried if the antagonist role will contradict his off-screen image. For him, being an actor means being able to transform according to the character being portrayed.

"Actually, it's just so I can explore all roles. But until now, I haven't really gotten a brutal role like you mentioned," he concluded.
