The Chronology of the Alleged Assault Case Ending in the Death of Edo Kondologit's Brother-in-Law

Kapanlagi.com - Edo Kondologit cannot contain his disappointment towards the police officers who are suspected of assault and shooting that resulted in the death of one of his relatives. After expressing his emotions in a viral video on Twitter, Edo Kondologit revealed the chronology of the assault case that took the life of George Karel Rumbino alias Riko to KapanLagi.com.

As previously reported, Riko's body was found with multiple signs of assault and gunshot wounds. When asked about the cause of Riko's death, Edo Kondologit confirmed that the police provided vague explanations.

"They always give vague explanations. They said it was because of the prisoners. Aren't the prisoners under your supervision? There are CCTV cameras, why did you let it happen? Are you trying to wash your hands? Because he was beaten by the prisoners, of course, he died. He hadn't eaten since morning, and he was also influenced by drugs and alcohol. You assaulted him like that," said Edo Kondologit when contacted by phone on Monday (31/8/2020).

1. Chronology of Events

A 20-year-old man named George Karel Rumbino, who is the nephew of Edo Kondologit's in-laws, was handed over to the police by his family in relation to a murder case involving a neighbor that occurred earlier. Instead of undergoing proper legal process, Edo Kondologit revealed that his brother-in-law became a victim of police injustice on Thursday (27/8/2020).

"Yes, it was on the 27th. Inside the Police Station, not outside. Still being processed, shot, that's the reason for trying to escape. How can he escape, if he was shot in both legs? What's the reason, how serious was his offense to be shot like that? The police cannot act as judge," he said.

2. Recently Handed Over

According to Edo Kondologit, something strange happened when the police officially informed that Riko had already passed away. However, just a few hours earlier, Riko had been handed over to the police by his family.

"Yes, he was just handed over at around 10 or 11 (noon) to the police, and he passed away at eight in the evening. I received the news from the Police Station at night. And it was only in the morning that the police officially informed us. That's disrespectful," said Edo Kondologit.

3. Direct Burial

Riko's body was immediately buried on Saturday (29/8/2020) by the family, a day after his death was known by the family. Edo Kondologit then revealed that he would take this case to the legal route.

"The next day he was immediately buried after his death, on the 28th. Placed at home in Doom and on the 29th we buried him. After that, I immediately called Mr. Deputy Chief of Police of West Papua to send the Internal Affairs Division (Propam), today the Propam team of West Papua has come down to investigate at the Sorong Police Resort," he concluded.
