The Collaboration Story of Rossa and Ariel Noah in the Duet 'Nada-Nada Cinta', From a Casual Jam to the Soundtrack of a Film

Indonesian diva, Rossa, recently collaborated with Ariel Noah on a duet work titled Nada-Nada Cinta. Interestingly, this collaboration began from their casual singing together.

Nada-Nada Cinta itself was originally a solo single released by Rossa in 1996. The song was created by Yongky Soewarno and Maryati.

"Back then I sang solo, then we just casually sang together," said Rossa when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Friday night, (23/8/2204).

Ariel explained that although it started as just a hobby, the process of working on the song became more serious. Both of them became busy reworking the song so that it could be enjoyed by today's youth.

"Only when we were working on it did we face many challenges that made it feel like, eh, we need to take this seriously. Because the song is quite old and was brought to the present time. So, the process of making it acceptable for the present took quite a long time," said Ariel.

Rossa added that both of them are very perfectionist in working on this song. "Because it really has to be good. We are both perfectionists; if it doesn't feel right, we just redo it," she said.

Ariel explained that the process was quite challenging. "This song is over 25 years old. It's quite a project. Three times changing producers, three times changing arrangements, changing tempos as well. So it took quite a bit of time," explained Ariel.

The process of working on this song was also faced with a deadline because it was planned as the soundtrack for Rossa's film titled All Access to Rossa 25 Shining Years.

"But in the end, it had a deadline because the planning was used to make the soundtrack for my film. So it had to be finished as well. This is the best according to us," said Rossa.

Ariel also revealed that his daughter, Alleia Anata, or affectionately called Alea, has already listened to this single. The little one gave her opinion.

"According to Alea, 'the song is good' she said haha. After it was changed several times, she liked it. So she didn't really like the old version, she didn't really like the second version, the third version 'ah good'," Ariel revealed.

With various changes and improvements, this duet of Rossa and Ariel can finally be enjoyed in a version they consider the best. This collaboration not only brings nostalgia but also introduces the classic song to a new generation.
