The Reason Kris Dayanti Just Started Her Bachelor's Degree at Age 50, Revealed the Chosen Campus & Major

Although she has attended orientation, Kris Dayanti will only start her studies in the odd semester in September 2025. The singer, who is also affectionately known as KD, does not yet have a bachelor's degree due to her busy schedule as a public figure and politician. 

"I just have the chance now, because the time is right. Knowledge and education are a part of life that continues to evolve. So whenever the time comes to gain knowledge, I feel there is no such thing as too late," said Kris Dayanti as reported by Kompas.com on Thursday (14/8/2025).

KD briefly pursued education in public speaking. After that, the busy grandmother of Ameena & Azura has not had the opportunity to pursue education to obtain a bachelor's degree. 

"Since high school, I haven't had the chance to go to college. Then I took a short course in public speaking. After that, I have been happy to earn money since I was young. So, I just worked until I got old," Kris Dayanti continued.

Raul Lemos' wife chose the Government Science major at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). KD is not only seeking a degree but also to broaden her horizons after serving as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives last year. 

"Yes, this is an opportunity to learn. During my time in parliament, I also used it to learn, and now it continues in college. I think it doesn't matter, age is just a number, what matters is being able to keep being useful," she concluded.

Kris Dayanti became a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. KD once ran in the Batu City regional election, her birthplace, as a candidate for Mayor. However, she lost to her rival. 

In the field of music, KD's career is beyond doubt with a series of singles, albums, and other works since 1990 to the present. The title of Indonesia's diva is attached to this younger sister of Yuni Shara.
