The film WHO IS HE, scheduled to be released on August 28, 2025, has released its official trailer on August 12, 2025. In the trailer, which lasts more than two minutes, we see the story of Layar (Nicholas Saputra), a director who is experiencing confusion over the ideas for his musical film.

Layar returns to his great-grandparents' home to seek inspiration and finds a suitcase containing letters and love notes from the past, spanning the love stories of his great-grandparents, grandfather, and father.
The screen enters into the story, getting swept up in a melodrama about life choices and his own heart's choices.
"My name is Layar, because my parents are movie lovers. I want to make a musical film. But I don't know where to start," said Layar in the trailer.
WHO IS HE is the first musical film presented by Garin Film from executive producer Faizal Lubis, and produced by Fabis Entertainment. Faizal Lubis stated that WHO IS HE is intentionally presented as a special gift for the nation and country.
"A gift for the Republic of Indonesia, for the nation's struggle, the children of the nation, and especially in the field of musical arts," he said proudly.
This film marks the feature film acting debut of talented singer, Monita Tahalea. She plays a woman named Nurlela.
Meanwhile, Garin Nugroho as the director explains that this film is a reflection of how music and popular culture have become an inseparable part of Indonesia's national narrative since the past.
"In fact, we often narrate or express our celebration of independence through songs and music," said Garin Nugroho.
A number of actors and actresses involved in WHO IS HE include Nicholas Saputra, Monita Tahalea, Gisella Anastasia, Widi Mulia, Dira Sugandi, Ariel Tatum, Joanna Alexandra, and Amanda Rawless.
