Public figures should also be cooler like them," said Andika Mahesa when contacted by KapanLagi, on Tuesday (7/4).

Andika also said that his friends invited him to pursue a career as an indie musician. The artist known as Babang Tamvan also admitted that initially he was introduced by his friend, Ucup. Ucup himself is known as the person behind the success of the Synchronize Fest music festival.

"Honestly, after I met Ucup, before Synchronize, I talked to Ucup. 'Ucup, I'm ready,' I talked and it turned out to be in sync. Then I learned, it turns out Ucup is cool. What's cool about him? He told me things I didn't know before. And he showed sportsmanship. I mean, in terms of finance, 'You're like this, Dik,' 'You package it like this, you're good like this.' Yeah, he's good (as a friend)," said Andika.

Andika also admitted that Ucup is the person who has brought many changes to him. He even said that his current appearance is also influenced by him. Andika also said that he has now stopped wearing fake branded clothes because he was reminded.

"But Ucup told me, 'Bro, the shoes you wear, the clothes you wear are fake, but I got money, Cup,' 'Yes, you're comfortable and later when the contract is over, you can fix it.' He told me, all this time I didn't know, sir. Which ones are fake and which ones are not. I don't know, I'm a person who came from the village to Jakarta, whether the clothes are fake or not is not my concern," he added.

Recently, it was revealed that Andika had become one of the performers at Synchronize Fest. There were even many who sang Kangen Band songs when he performed. Andika gave a different opinion.

"Because in my opinion, some Indonesians have the disease of being hypocritical. This disease is actually difficult to eliminate. Actually, they like it but they say they don't. But in their phones, they have my songs. That's how it is, let's just have a positive thinking mindset," he concluded.
