Investigation of the Vanessa Angel and Bibi Ardiansyah Drug Case is Still Pending Due to the COVID-19 Outbreak

Kompol Ronaldo Maradona, the Narcotics Chief of the West Jakarta Metro Police, stated that this case is still awaiting the results of hair and blood tests from both individuals. He mentioned that this examination does indeed require a long time as it involves many parties.

"I don't know if there are any obstacles or not. I think maybe because of the corona, yes. I also don't know if the test is waiting for the staff or how it is, we are also waiting. Because we don't do it ourselves, we delegate it to another institution. The laboratory has also not provided any updates," said Kompol Ronaldo Maradona, the Narcotics Chief of the West Jakarta Metro Police when contacted by the KapanLagi team (28/3).

1. Still COVID-19 Examination

In addition to waiting for hair and blood tests, Kompol Ronaldo Maradona also said that Vanessa still has to fulfill the doctor's call so she cannot attend yet. This is considering the circular that obliges COVID-19 handling.

"So we wait for her first, because the information from her is important for the next examination. Because there is a connection between the prescription and the items in Vanessa's possession during the search. So the information needed from this doctor first, then we will call Vanessa again. We can't force the doctor, " said Kompol Ronaldo Maradona.

2. Former Legal Counsel

When asked about Vanessa's former legal counsel, Kompol Ronaldo Maradona said that they are still waiting for confirmation from the party concerned.

"They haven't replied to the letter. That's why we are waiting for confirmation from the person concerned. But the person concerned was called from outside the area, and we are currently facing a situation that is not common. If they are outside the area, usually we pick them up, but we haven't done it yet," said Kompol Ronaldo Maradona.

"Why not yet? Because there are other situations that we have to consider. So we haven't gone out of town yet. We are waiting. What is certain is that the investigation process continues. But because of the current situation and condition, our activities are adjusted to this pandemic first," he added.
