Legal Counsel Karen Porooe Denies Making False Reports, Doesn't Want to Embarrass Herself

Kapanlagi.com - The South Jakarta Police are known to have issued a decision to stop investigation (SP3) regarding the alleged assault and gunpoint robbery case. Karen Pooroe's legal counsel, Wemmy Amanupunyo, admitted to having received information regarding the decision to stop investigation from the police.

He stated that the reason for the report being terminated is because the witnesses didn't actually see what happened. The incident took place inside a house and couldn't be visually seen by the witnesses, who were numerous at that time.

1. False Report?

"(Witnesses) There's the neighborhood head, the community police officer, they didn't witness it but when the incident happened, sister Karen mentioned it. Karen said that her position was the only witness," he said when contacted on Tuesday (24/3/2020).

"So if they want to say it's a false report, go ahead. But earlier I said it's not possible, how can we not report when a human is hurt?" he added.

2. Embarrass Themselves

He also denied making a false report regarding this case. According to him, a false report will only embarrass themselves.

"Then the report we made, a false report that will embarrass our reputation, we will look foolish. I didn't intervene with the police, if there's not enough evidence then it means this case is not worthy of investigation," he concluded.
