Najwa stated that Ibrahim is a guiding light, a source of peace, and a home for his family, while Namiyah, although she only lived for a day, will forever remain in the hearts of the family.
"Now they embrace each other, father and daughter, one full life, one brief breath, in the same embrace of the earth," Najwa wrote in a post on her personal Instagram, on Friday (23/5).
"We imagine her reaching for her father's hand, 'Abi, come here… Namiyah is already here'," she continued.

This post became a deep expression of grief for Najwa after her husband passed away on May 20, 2025, and was buried at TPU Jeruk Purut, Jakarta. She also expressed gratitude for the prayers, flowers, and condolence messages that supported the family during this difficult time.
"A meeting that the world cannot grant them, and is gently filled by the next world, completely. Thank you for all the prayers, fragrant flowers, and messages, your love supports us when we have no strength to stand," wrote the 47-year-old woman.

The love story of Najwa Shihab and Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf began from their meeting in the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia, where Ibrahim was Najwa's senior.
