This is the Chronology of the Death of Faank Wali's Mother-in-Law, Who Experienced Shortness of Breath and Was Rushed to the ER

The mother-in-law of Wali's vocalist, Faank, Hj. Astuti Waty binti Muhammad Sujud, passed away on Saturday early morning, April 19, 2025, right after arriving in Indonesia following her umrah pilgrimage with the Wali family. Check out the complete chronology!

Astuti Waty, who was 70 years old, had previously suffered from kidney stones and had undergone surgery to address the condition.

While performing umrah in the Holy Land with the Wali group, Astuti experienced shortness of breath and was rushed to the ER at a hospital in Madinah twice.

"Actually, the pain was just the early stage of kidney stones, it was already resolved after surgery. But when I was there (in the Holy Land), suddenly I had shortness of breath, it was hard to breathe. And it turned out that when checked in Madinah, my lungs were already starting to fill with water," said Sari, Faank's wife, as seen on Selebrita Pagi, Monday (21/4).

The doctor examined and stated that her lungs were already filled with water, causing her condition to become critical (anfal).

Although the doctor recommended the use of a ventilator as a breathing aid, Astuti chose outpatient care because she still felt capable of continuing her umrah worship.

She successfully completed her series of umrah rituals and then returned to Indonesia earlier with the first group, while Faank and his wife followed later.

Upon arriving in Jakarta, Astuti didn't have the chance to do anything before she took her last breath on Saturday (19/4).
