The singer Rossa expressed deep regret after the passing of Titiek Puspa. She feels a loss because she did not have the chance to answer the last call from the legend before her passing.
This story was shared by Rossa while attending the seven-day mourning gathering for Titiek Puspa at the PTIK building in South Jakarta. In that touching moment, Rossa recalled a moment that still makes her heart sad. Here are the details.
The singer, affectionately known as Teh Oca, recounted that last February, she received an unanswered call from Titiek Puspa. Unfortunately, because she was busy recording, she did not follow up on the call immediately.
"What I regret the most is that in February I had a missed call while I was recording. I said, 'grandma, I'm recording,' and after that, I forgot to call back. That is my biggest regret," said Rossa.
According to Rossa, their communication has been very intense, sometimes lasting for hours. That is why that last moment has continued to leave a mark.
Rossa mentioned that at that time she did not know that Titiek Puspa's condition was declining and that she was using a wheelchair. After that, she never met the maestro in person again. "As far as I remember, that was when she was already using a wheelchair... but after that, I didn't have the chance to meet her again," she said.
The regret serves as a reminder for her about the importance of taking time for loved ones. Moreover, Rossa and Titiek Puspa had a very close relationship, both personally and professionally.
Nevertheless, Rossa still feels grateful to have many beautiful memories with Titiek throughout her life. She wants to remember Eyang Titiek in her best version. "Alhamdulillah many attended and everyone had the chance to read Yasin for Eyang... prayer is all we can offer," she added.
For Rossa, remembering Titiek Puspa is not only through tears but also by keeping alive the spirit and messages that she once conveyed.
