In an interview with podcaster Kemal Palevi, Dul Jaelani stated that he feels embarrassed if he has to ask for help from his father, who is known to be very skilled in music.
"No, I'm embarrassed (to ask for help) when it comes to my dad," said Dul Jaelani in the podcast with Kemal Palevi, quoted on Wednesday (4/12).
On the other hand, Dul Jaelani feels more comfortable asking for help from Maia Estianty. He admitted that he always consults with his mother, especially regarding song lyrics. "Yesterday I got some help with the lyrics from mom," he concluded.
When he feels unsure or confused about the lyrics he has written, Dul Jaelani will immediately contact Maia to get her perspective and assistance.
"So yesterday I was a bit confused about the lyrics because in music, the most important thing is the lyrics," concluded the 24-year-old singer. Â "I consulted with mom, 'Mom, how about these lyrics?', 'These are just regular lyrics, let me help you with them,'" he added.
Dul Jaelani also expressed that he is worried that if he continues to depend on others, it could make him a spoiled musician. Â "In my opinion, it is dangerous for the mental state of an artist because it makes one spoiled," he said.
