The case of the young woman named Vina who was raped and murdered by a motorcycle gang in Cirebon is brought to the medium of film by Dee Company. Sadullah as the grandfather of the late Vina also left a message to parents to pay more attention if they have daughters. "At first, Vina said goodbye to me and asked for permission to go play. As a grandfather, I just advised her to be careful, but the incident turned out differently," said Sadullah while crying during a press conference at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (18/4/2024).
"That's why I advise those who have daughters to provide good guidance so that (what happened to Vina) won't occur," he continued.
Vina's older sister named Marliyana also hopes that justice will be obtained for the late Vina through the movie VINA: SEBELUM 7 HARI. As it is known, eight years have passed since the incident, and the three individuals mentioned as the masterminds behind the murder have not been captured yet.
"For the perpetrator, I ask for them to be arrested as soon as possible because it has been several years and there is still no clarity for our family. There is no news about their arrest or anything in the media. It's strange that after several years there is still no clarity," said Marliyana on the same occasion.
Unable to hold back her tears, Marliyana asked the three main perpetrators to surrender. She wants them to experience the consequences of what they did to the late Vina.
"For the perpetrators, please surrender. I want them to feel what my sister felt. At least they should feel what my sister felt," Marliyana added.
In 2017, the Vina case that was tried in the Cirebon District Court was declared closed. Five defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment, while one person was only sentenced to eight years of imprisonment due to being underage. Then, three people suspected of being the mastermind behind the murder are still on the Wanted List until now.
