Tissa was selected without a formal casting process because she was considered very suitable for the character Nirmala and is already well-known through previous collaborations.

"The selection of Tissa was very brief. Surprisingly, it was less than five minutes. So when we talked about who would play Nirmala, Tissa Biani's name came up because we had worked together on BUMI ITU BULAT," said Robert Ronny, the producer from Paragon Pictures, during a virtual conference via Zoom on Thursday (27/1/2022).

"I have known Tissa for a long time and am impressed with her work ethic. No need for casting, no need for anything, just offer it directly. As soon as she put on the costume, I imagined Nirmala in the real world. It’s like Tissa was indeed born as Nirmala," added the filmmaker from Surabaya.

If the role of Nirmala goes to Tissa Biani, the role of Oki will be cast through an online casting process. This is intentional to seek new talent in an effort for regeneration.
