Tommy Winata's Friend Clarifies About Agnez Mo's Godparents

Tommy Winata, who is a Buddhist and an Environmentalist, has been referred to as the ‘Leader of the 9 Dragons of Indonesia’ and is alleged to be the godparent in Christianity of Agnez Mo.

A businessman close to Tommy Winata, Engel Glendy Sahanggamu, clarified that Tommy Winata could not possibly be Agnez Mo's godparent.

"With this, I, representing Mr. TW, clarify that he is a Buddhist and cannot possibly be the godparent of Artist Agnez Mo, and has never backed anyone," said Engel in his statement on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Additionally, Engel stated that Tommy Winata is also not involved and does not understand the issues faced by Agnez Mo. Moreover, he said, Tommy Winata is currently not in Indonesia, so it should not be linked to Agnez Mo's controversy.

"Mr. TW is not involved and does not understand Agnez Mo's issues, and the news so far is a hoax because he is currently in China for some time," he explained.

1. Straighten the Twisted Issue

He revealed that Tommy Winata is currently contributing to the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, focusing on environmental issues. Therefore, Engel feels the need to straighten out the twisted issue attacking Tommy Winata regarding Agnez Mo.

"He is now focused on environmental issues and trying to dedicate his life to the nation and state through development, as well as various conservation activities and the Artha Graha Peduli program. So as a friend of Mr. TW, I was asked to clear up this matter that all the news is hoaxes," Engel emphasized.

2. Focus on Spreading Good Karma

As a friend of Ahmad Dhani, Engel continued, he has also explained to him that it is not Tommy Winata who is being referred to. Therefore, Engel asks all parties not to tarnish the image and good name of Tommy Winata. "Please do not damage Mr. TW's image," he said.

Currently, Engel stated that Tommy Winata is more focused on thinking about serving the nation and country through humanitarian actions rather than dealing with such matters.
