Total Dedication to Work, Masayu Anastasia Dares to Interact with Snakes for the Horror Film 'PAKU TANAH JAWA'

Kapanlagi.com - Masayu Anastasia is involved in the horror film titled PAKU TANAH JAWA directed by Bambang Drias. In the film that is a collaboration between two countries, she plays a sinden named Handini.

As preparation for her role as a sinden, Masayu will undergo a special ritual according to Javanese beliefs. This is done to avoid unwanted things.

"I bring the actors closer to the things they will experience. Like Masayu, who plays a sinden, she had a video call session with a sinden directly. Then she will undergo a ritual in Jogjan. I follow the rules in Java because this sinden should not be taken lightly," said Bambang Drias in a press conference in the Antasari area, South Jakarta, on Friday (2/6/2023).

1. Training to Become a Sinden

In addition, for the past few days, Masayu Anastasia has been preparing herself by practicing dance and singing. This is done so that later when in front of the camera, she looks natural.

"This film is a new challenge for me. Playing as a sinden, I have to practice dancing, practice singing, and also dialogue using Javanese language. And this sinden is not a seductive woman, she has her own magic," said Masayu on the same occasion.

2. Daring to Interact with Snakes

In the film produced by Loop Entertainment from Indonesia and Armani Entertainment from Malaysia, there is a scene between Masayu Anastasia and a snake. She even practiced before filming despite being disgusted by its skin texture.

"In the film, I have an interaction with a snake. I am actually very disgusted, but for the sake of professionalism, I dared myself. When holding a snake, we must be calm. And we must hold it from a hand's length away from the head, not from the tail. That's what I was taught yesterday," said Masayu.
