Track the Location of Instagram Hacker Ahmad Dhani, Suspected Recidivist from Eastern Indonesia

The case of the hacking of the Instagram account belonging to famous musician Ahmad Dhani Prasetyo is starting to find clarity. Based on the initial investigation conducted by a team of experts and Meta, the presence of the perpetrator who compromised the security system of the @ahmaddhaniofficial account has begun to be detected. The perpetrator is strongly suspected to be part of a cybercrime syndicate operating from a region far outside of Java island.

Aldwin Rahadian, the legal representative of the 53-year-old man, revealed that the hacking coordinates have been traced by the internal team before an official report was made. Although the identity of the hacker has not been fully obtained, initial data indicates a specific geographical direction. Dhani's team has also handed over the details of this finding to the investigators for further development.

"The last trace was from the direction of Eastern Indonesia, that's the area. But we are not sure yet, let the police carry out the investigation and inquiry later," said Aldwin Rahadian when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Thursday (07/05/2026).

Aldwin added that the group that hacked the accounts of Al, El, and Dul is suspected not to be new players. There is a suspicion that they are recidivists who repeatedly carry out similar actions targeting the accounts of public figures with many followers. This is what makes Ahmad Dhani feel a moral obligation to oversee this case until it is resolved.

The husband of Mulan Jameela feels very aggrieved because his name has been dragged into a fraud that he never committed. For him, this police report is a way to provide legal certainty for his followers who were deceived. Dhani wants to ensure that the public knows that his account at that time was indeed completely out of his control.

"Therefore, Mas Dhani and I, as his legal counsel, have a moral responsibility that this must be thoroughly investigated. And it is indeed true that the account during the hacking period was really hacked," Aldwin explained, continuing his previous statement.

This issue arose after Ahmad Dhani's blue tick account suddenly posted a fake promotion for Antam gold and expensive gadgets on Wednesday morning. Since it happened while Dhani was resting, he only realized his access was gone around 06:30 WIB. Unfortunately, some people had already sent a total of Rp60 million to the scammer's account before the account could be restored.

Aldwin emphasized that this report also aims to protect the digital assets of the general public. He hopes the Ministry of Communication and Informatics pays special attention to the vulnerabilities of verified accounts that should have layered security systems. The lessons from Dhani's case are expected to encourage an increase in data protection standards on national social media platforms.

Currently, the police have received evidence of the history of illegal access withdrawals experienced by the musician. Several victims have also expressed their willingness to become key witnesses to expedite the arrest of the perpetrators. Dhani himself is scheduled to appear to meet with investigators to provide additional information in the near future.

Through this legal action, Ahmad Dhani hopes his good name will be restored soon and that no one else will become a victim. Until now, the social media accounts of the Dewa 19 frontman are being closely monitored to avoid further hacking attempts from outside parties.

As reported, Ahmad Dhani's official Instagram account (@ahmaddhaniofficial) was hacked on May 6, 2026, around 06:00 WIB. The hacker used the account to deceive followers by selling the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Antam gold below market price. As a result, three followers became victims with losses reaching tens of millions of rupiah before the account was successfully restored a few hours later.
