Treated Arbitrarily by a Hotel, Mandala Shoji and His Wife Claim to Have Suffered a Moral Loss of IDR 100 Billion

Kapanlagi.com - Mandala Shoji and his wife named Maridha Deanova experienced an unpleasant incident while holding a meeting and staying at a hotel in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. In the middle of the event, the couple was forced out of the hotel room even though there was still one more day of stay.

What made Mandala and Maridha angry was that their belongings were taken out without permission. Then they were placed in the hotel lobby, attracting attention from people.

"Imagine how embarrassed we were. We had a big event attended by the governor, directors, entrepreneurs, and I was expelled and everyone saw it. They easily said 'I already checked out'. I said 'Even if the stay is over, they could charge me and I would pay'. Because I was annoyed, I called the committee and they also got angry because according to the booking evidence, it was until the 9th," said Mandala during a press conference in Ampera area, South Jakarta, Monday (11/12/2023).

1. Not Allowed to Enter the Room Again

Because the ongoing conference, Mandala Shoji asked for help to put back the belongings into the room so that they can continue their activities. However, the hotel refused with the reason that the room has been prepared for other guests.

"I asked, 'Can you please put the belongings back in the room so that I can work?' They said, 'No, this hotel is already full.' They were very firm and couldn't do it because someone had already entered. Imagine if we, as public figures, were treated like that, how about other people? Our suitcase was also damaged," Mandala added.

2. Moral Loss of Rp 100 Billion

Feeling mistreated and facing various criminal allegations, Mandala Shoji and Maridha Deanova intend to report to the police preceded by sending a summons letter. They are demanding material compensation of Rp 6 billion and moral compensation of Rp 100 billion.

"We are ashamed because we were hosting many people. Because of the hurt feelings and the losses we suffered, we will make a report," Mandala said.

"We experienced losses. Materially, it's around six to seven billion. Morally, it's a hundred billion," Maridha firmly stated during the same occasion.
