Unable to Meet My Wife in France for 4 Months, Ario Bayu: I Feel Like Crying!

The BUFFALO BOYS film star admitted that he has not seen his wife for 4 months. Even without the Covid-19 pandemic, their meetings have been rare.

"Incidentally, my wife is a foreign citizen, she is French and even without this pandemic, it was already difficult for us to meet, in the sense that sometimes she has projects there because she works in the film industry, so it's hard to meet. And now, during this pandemic, it's even more complicated," said Ario when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/4).

1. Feeling Like Crying

It cannot be denied that Ario misses his wife so much. However, for the sake of the common good, he chooses to comply with the procedures set by the government.

"Last December, when he had a project, I finished mine at the end of January or early February, suddenly we received news about this pandemic. It started in Wuhan, then Italy started to be heavily affected, and eventually all flights and borders were closed. So, my wife couldn't come here and I couldn't go there until today. It has been almost 4 months since I last met my wife. I actually want to cry, but I'm just pretending to be tough, hahaha," he continued.

2. Strict Regulations in France

Furthermore, Ario describes the strict lockdown procedures implemented in France. According to him, the regulations there are very strict, and the people are highly disciplined in responding to this pandemic.

"In Paris, they are really strict, in the sense that we have to write a declaration letter if we want to go outside. The police can check it, so if we go outside and are asked for the reason, we have to show it. Their people are really disciplined, and the police have tightened their regulations," he continued.

3. All Family Members in Good Health

One thing for sure, currently Ario's wife and sister who live in France are in a safe and healthy condition. The same goes for his parents who reside in New Zealand. At least, this news has brought him much relief.

"Yes, praise and gratitude Alhamdulillah, my wife is fine, healthy, with her siblings and family. My sister and her husband happen to have been living in France for more than 2 years, and she is also healthy, often chatting with my mother, and my parents who live in New Zealand are also safe. It is said that the vulnerable ones are those above 60 years old, so far the news from my parents is good until now. Even New Zealand has started to ease restrictions and some restaurants have started to open, but they are only allowed for takeaways," he concluded.
