Unique Story of Sheila On 7's First Trip to Jakarta for Recording, Eross Bought Salted Fish When He Ran Out of Money

Kapanlagi.com - After several years of not being together with the band Sheila on 7, Anton Widiastanto, former drummer of Sheila on 7, finally reappeared. All the curiosity about the formation of Sheila On 7 has finally been revealed.

Through his Youtube account, Anton revealed the unique story of Sheila on 7's first trip to Jakarta for recording and recalled his experiences while he was in Jakarta, such as getting lost and Eross once eating salted fish.

"Oh yeah, about the Sony electronics, it was Adam and Eross, so they kind of surveyed first," said Anton in an interview on the medcom.id Youtube account.

"Oh, do you remember that story about the salted fish, there was a way of eating it, it was like a pick-up truck like a street food stall, he opened the back and ate it like that, how was the story, did he run out of money or something, he just took the salted fish without paying if he didn't have enough money," he added.

1. Remembering the First Album Production

In addition to remembering the first time in Jakarta, Anton also shared memories of his songs in the first album. Yes, at that time Anton did not have drumsticks during the production process.

"What I remember there, during the production, I didn't have drumsticks, so in Jogja there was a female drummer named Clara, I borrowed her drumsticks, so the sticks were made of wood, maybe it was teak wood, and the tip in the front was small, maybe it had been used for a long time, already worn out or something, so when recording, imagine using a DW drum, which needs a strong hit to produce a new sound, it didn't come out, so I hit it desperately," said Anton.

2. Missing Eross's Figure

Not only that, Anton also misses Eross Candra, not in terms of music, Anton admitted that he misses the little things outside their busy lives as musicians.

"I miss Eross, but I miss the things outside of music more. I still remember when it happened in Makassar, Eross and I just went for a walk, played in the mall, and jokingly brought shopping bags together like this. When we entered the lobby, there was a girl chasing us from behind asking for a photo, and when it was done, her eyes were blinking. I already knew, your camera is reversed, the flash is in front of the eyes. Eross laughed until he rolled on the floor," Anton recalled.
