Using Nikita Mirzani's Child's Name, Lawyer Indra Tarigan Officially a Suspect - Case Ready for Trial

Kapanlagi.com - In 2019, Nikita Mirzani reported a man named Indra Tarigan to the Jakarta Metro Police. The lawyer, who often handles cases involving artists, brought up his daughter's name when mocking her on Instagram stories.

Some of the remarks written by Indra were deemed inappropriate by Nikita. One of them said, 'Hopefully this child won't become a prostitute like her mother in the future.'

Almost two years have passed, and the police have officially named Indra Tarigan as a suspect. The case is ready to proceed to trial in the near future.

"IT has been named a suspect based on Niki's report to the Jakarta Metro Police. This means that the trial will take place soon. Niki has known for a long time that this would happen because she did it for the sake of her child. Nikita fought for her child's interests," said Fahmi Bachmid, Nikita's lawyer, via a Zoom meeting on Tuesday (29/6/2021).

1. Reasons for Insisting on Imprisonment

Nikita Mirzani said she would not insist on imprisoning Indra Tarigan if only she was attacked. However, it became a different matter when her daughter's name was brought up.

"IT posted a writing that discredited Nikita Mirzani's child. Niki, when it comes to her child being touched, the issue becomes extensive. During the mediation, Niki said, 'I personally have no problem with you, but because you have involved my child, I will not forgive unless it is processed legally,'" Fahmi continued, imitating Nikita's words.

2. The Fate of Indra Tarigan's Report

Meanwhile, Indra Tarigan has also reported Nikita Mirzani to the South Jakarta Metro Police for defamation on social media. However, almost two years have passed and the report has not yet entered the case file.

"Why is this case taking so long? You can see that the reported incidents are related to social media. This means that our evidence must be scientific, involving digital forensics, which certainly cannot be done quickly," said the South Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Kompol Achmad Akbar, when interviewed in his office.
