Vadel Badjideh Continues to Study & Dance in Detention, Cries Because He Can't Buy a Cat

In the midst of the ongoing legal process, the condition of Vadel Badjideh in the detention house was revealed by his two older siblings, Martin and Bintang Badjideh. They mentioned that Vadel is trying to stay strong despite feeling a deep longing for his family.

According to Bintang, his younger brother continues to maintain a positive routine while in detention. Vadel does not neglect his worship and even takes time to stretch his body.

"His activities include continuing to study the Quran, thank God, he also exercises but he also takes time to stretch his body with dancing like that," said Bintang Badjideh at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (13/8/2025).

Even so, Vadel cannot hide his longing for home and family. Bintang mentioned that his younger brother is experiencing quite severe homesickness. "It's bad," said Bintang briefly.

Martin added that the moments of meeting during the breaks of the hearings always become an opportunity for Vadel to relieve his longing, especially for his nieces and nephews. "Surely when we meet, we miss the family, the nephews," said Martin.

Bintang also confirmed how close Vadel is to his nieces and nephews. So close, in fact, that it sometimes makes Vadel very emotional. "Especially with his nephews, he is very close to them," added Bintang.

There was one touching moment revealed by Bintang. He said Vadel had cried because he remembered a promise he had not fulfilled to someone, which was to buy a cat. "He cried because he couldn't buy a cat, adopting a cat is what Vadel keeps remembering," he said.

Being close to a nephew also presents its own challenges for the family. Bintang admitted to having difficulty finding an excuse when his nephew asked about Vadel's whereabouts.

"It's hard for us to find the reasons, the answers are difficult. If we say the flight is also very long, we try to come up with excuses like the task is not finished yet, it will take a while," he explained.

To provide a little comfort, the family always brings Vadel's favorite food and drinks every time they visit. "It's usually food, earlier mom also brought donuts which are Vadel's favorite, still the same as usual Vadel likes coffee, iced coffee," concluded Bintang.
