Vanessa Angel Admits Using Xanax to Relieve Stress After Being Declared a Suspect

Kapanlagi.com - West Jakarta Metro Police have named Vanessa Angel as a suspect in the possession of the psychotropic drug xanax. Vanessa told the police that she used xanax as a stress reliever.

"According to her statement, she used it when she was under stress," said West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit Chief Commissioner Ronaldo Maradona during a press conference on Thursday (4/9).

1. Purchased While Involved in Prostitution Case

Vanessa admitted to the police that she bought xanax when she was involved in an online prostitution case earlier this year. "She bought it at a pharmacy in Surabaya while she was undergoing another legal process. However, the details of where she bought it were not disclosed," he said.

Vanessa initially claimed that the xanax she owned was prescribed by a doctor. However, after further investigation, it was revealed that the xanax Vanessa possessed was different from the one prescribed by the doctor.

"We can conclude that the item seized by the investigator from Ms. VA is not the same as the one prescribed by the doctor," said Ronaldo.

2. Not According to the Doctor's Prescription

Ronaldo Maradona said there is a difference in the prescribed dosage of xanax by the doctor compared to what Vanessa Angel had. "The doctor's prescription is 0.5 mg, while what we confiscated from sister VA is 1 mg," he said.

Vanessa Angel is charged under Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropic substances with a maximum prison sentence of five years and a maximum fine of Rp100 million.
