Venna Melinda Confident in Wearing Hijab Because of Marini Zumarnis' Words

Kapanlagi.com - In this year's Ramadan, Venna Melinda finally decided to wear hijab. Apparently, she obtained guidance after having many conversations with some artist friends who already wear hijab.

"Alhamdulillah in the third week of Ramadan 2020, I (wore hijab). At first, I was happy to make vlogs. So in that vlog, there were many interviews with artists like Marini Zumarnis, Elma Theana who already wear hijab. Because the theme was Ramadan," said Venna Melinda when contacted by Kapanlagi, Wednesday (3/6).

"So finally, I started talking more often with Marini, whom I haven't talked to in a long time. So after the zoom meeting, I called Marini and we chatted like normal moms, talking about our children and so on," she continued.

1. Marini Zumarnis' Remark Touched Venna Melinda

From many conversations, Venna Melinda felt touched by Marini Zumarnis' remark, making her realize that it is time to cover her aurah.

"Suddenly, Marini said to me, the point is we cannot change people, we cannot change the situation, but what we can change is ourselves. After she said that, I felt touched," said Venna Melinda.

"Oh, that's true. In my 48 years of life, there is one thing that I haven't done yet, which is wearing hijab. During the 8 years when I was a single mom, I was very selective and didn't want to date anyone. But there is one thing that I haven't done, which is covering my aurah," she continued.

2. Convincing Herself with Dhuha Prayer

To convince herself to wear hijab, Venna Melinda asked for guidance from Allah SWT through dhuha prayer.

"So I prayed because it was still morning, I prayed dhuha, I asked Allah to soften my heart and assure me that I want to have a better quality life by migrating, which is wearing hijab. Interestingly, on that day itself, I immediately felt convinced and starting from the next day, even when I make vlogs, I still wear hijab," said Verrell Bramasta's mother.

3. Marini Zumarnis Surprised

Marini Zumarnis was also surprised by the rapid change of Venna Melinda when she decided to wear hijab. She didn't expect that her words had such a significant influence on Venna Melinda.

"Marini was also surprised because she thought she wasn't the one who told her to wear hijab, no. She just said it casually but it really got to me. Alhamdulillah. Maybe Allah told Marini to say it like that and in the end, I really embraced it," she concluded.
