Vidi Aldiano Expresses Gratitude for 6 Years Battling Cancer, Here's How His Life Has Changed and His Prayer

Now, it has been 6 years since Vidi Aldiano has been fighting to recover from cancer. He expresses his gratitude as the illness has taught him many things about life.

"Today marks exactly 6 years since I was introduced to God's gift in the form of cancer. Many changes have occurred since that day. Many priorities have shifted. And the way I see the world has changed. Mindset shifted," he wrote in an Instagram post.

In his writing, he recounts the significant changes in his life, from perspectives, priorities, to the meaning of love and patience. "And the way I see the world, being grateful for things I never realized before and being able to see a trial as a lesson, you have changed me a lot," he wrote.

Vidi now looks at life with a new calmness. He admits to having learned a lot about the meaning of patience, sincerity, and surrendering. "Thank you, Cancer, because of you, I have learned so much over the last 6 years. The meaning of patience, the meaning of surrender, the meaning of sincerity, and the meaning of loving genuine people, completely," he explained.

"I hope our meeting can end as soon as possible according to the permission of the Almighty. However, I fully accept you as a part of me for the past 6 years," he wrote.

As is known, Vidi Aldiano first revealed his journey of battling cancer in 2019. Initially, he thought the high blood pressure was caused by stress and fatigue.

However, further examination in Singapore revealed a five-centimeter lump on his left kidney. An MRI test then confirmed that the lump was a malignant tumor that needed to be addressed immediately through surgery.

After the surgery, Vidi underwent regular chemotherapy to prevent the spread of cancer cells. This included treatment abroad, such as in Penang, Malaysia.

Vidi Aldiano also expressed consideration to stop chemotherapy. In addition to medical factors, mental pressure also posed its own challenges.

On November 1, 2025, Vidi Aldiano announced his decision to take a temporary hiatus from the entertainment world. He also emphasized that this break does not mean he will stop creating.
