Vincent Verhaag Says Jessica Iskandar is Still in Shock Over the Passing of Her Beloved Father

However, Jessica's absence today has drawn attention as she was not seen at the funeral home on Tuesday (30/12/2024). Her husband, Vincent Verhaag, provided reasons for Jessica's absence at the funeral home today.

According to Vincent, Jessica is deeply affected by her father's passing. As the eldest child and the only daughter in the family, Jessica feels profound grief.

However, her absence today is not because she does not want to show love to her father, but rather there is another reason that led her to make that decision.

"It's shocking, because after his passing, well, Jess is the youngest child and the only girl. The reason Jess isn't present is not because she doesn't want to be there," said Vincent at the funeral home, RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (30/12/2024).

"But at home, there is still a baby who is only 29 days old now. Not even a month, not even 40 days yet. So it’s a bit of a dilemma that I mentioned earlier, we have to split our time," he added.

1. Baby Health Becomes a Priority

Jessica has shown her love for her father by being present at the funeral home yesterday, right on the first day. However, with her newborn baby's condition and her own recovery post-surgery, Jessica must prioritize her health and her baby's. This made her absent on the second day.

"So as much as Vincent can support here for his family, for Erick, for Denis who just arrived from America with Mama Wulan. Yes, as much as Vincent can support here, Vincent is here. If Jess, the first day she was here," explained Vincent.

2. Dilemma

Jessica has been trying her best to fulfill her responsibilities as both a mother and a daughter. Nevertheless, the situation at the funeral home remains stable with Vincent's presence to support their extended family.

"And previously at home, she had also come. It's just that it's a dilemma, because at home there is still a baby and she really shouldn't be too tired either," said Vincent.

"Because she just had surgery yesterday, after going through them. It wasn't tense either yesterday. And that too, for 40 days she really needs to rest at home to heal her wounds quickly," added Vincent.

3. Cremation January 1

Jessica indeed has to undergo adequate physical recovery after her surgery. This condition prevents her from pushing herself too hard to be present at the funeral home all the time. This decision was made together with Vincent to ensure a balance between Jessica's health and her responsibilities to the family.

"Oh, tomorrow the 31st there is what is it called, the release (Malam Kembang). That will be tomorrow at 7 PM, where we will pray together so that Papa can return to heaven peacefully, and the next day on the 1st (January) 2025, Papa will be cremated," said Vincent.
