The concert of Dewa 19 Featuring All Stars 2.0, which was scheduled to take place on January 18, 2025, has officially been postponed to September 6, 2025. This decision was made following a request from the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) regarding the condition of the grass at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between the Indonesian national team and Bahrain on March 25, 2025. In a press conference held on Monday (30/12) yesterday, Ahmad Dhani, the frontman of Dewa 19, explained that this postponement is a step to maintain the quality of the GBK field.
"Initially, there were rumors from netizens on Instagram about the possibility of grass damage if the concert continued. We received a letter from Mr. Erick Tohir as the Chairman of PSSI asking us to reschedule the concert for the sake of the national team," Dhani stated.
Furthermore, Indra Putra, advisor of PT Dewa 19 All Stars Promotion, added that this decision was not made lightly.
"We realize that this match is very important and must be prioritized. The grass maintenance process takes about three months, making it impossible to hold a concert between January and June without the risk of damage," he explained.
"To avoid all kinds of issues, I and Dewa 19, the promoter, and the Chairman of PSSI (Erick Thohir) have agreed to postpone the Dewa 19 All Stars schedule," added Dhani.
Furthermore, September was chosen for the concert to accommodate the schedules of the guest stars.
"Because the schedules of the three guest stars are packed in the summer, we finally got their schedule, Mr. Big, Extreme, and Bad English on September 6," Dhani said.
Although the concert has been postponed, the organizers are committed to giving appreciation to fans who have purchased tickets. For those who do not wish to request a refund, special merchandise in the form of a limited edition red Dewa 19 jersey will be provided.
