Designer and presenter Ivan Gunawan has once again expressed his desire to live abroad. Previously, he had planned to move to Europe, but now the presenter, affectionately called Igun, has stated his intention to settle in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

"It's okay, I've been telling my manager for a long time. I want to live in Dubai. I said I want to have a house in Dubai, want to live in Dubai. That's my dream," said Ivan Gunawan in Pondok Bambu, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/1/2025).

This desire arises from Ivan Gunawan's imagination, who really enjoys daydreaming. He envisions living in various countries and becoming a global citizen. Here are the details.

"I have things with my manager. I call, 'where are you, ma'am? In Dubai? Okay, tomorrow on Tuesday the meeting is in Dubai, alright. Tomorrow where, ma'am? In Paris. Is that right? Correct.' Those are just fantasies, I really like to daydream, Guys," he said.

Ivan Gunawan also dreams of traveling to various countries in a short time. "So he wants to sleep in Dubai today, sleep in Paris tomorrow, where tomorrow. So the global citizen wants it like that," he said.

Although he wants to settle abroad, Ivan Gunawan is confident that his work will not be disrupted. According to him, current technological advancements allow someone to work from anywhere. "Because now, for example, designing or sending designs or working can already be done via WhatsApp, so working from anywhere, God willing, can be done," he explained.

Although it initially started as just a fantasy, Ivan Gunawan seems serious about realizing his desire to live in Dubai. One of the steps he is taking is learning Arabic to make communication easier when he is there. "Basically, when I got back from there (Umrah), I wanted to speak Arabic. I'm currently looking for a teacher who can teach Arabic," said Ivan Gunawan.

He admitted that he wants to master Arabic so he won't be deceived when communicating with locals. "Yes, so I won't be fooled by Arabs. So when we talk, we can," he said.

Not only Arabic, Ivan Gunawan also plans to learn Chinese. He wants to ensure that he can communicate with more people when traveling to various countries. "So actually there are two, I want to learn Arabic and I want to learn Chinese. So that wherever I go, I can," he added.

Although he has found several potential teachers, Ivan Gunawan admitted that he has not yet found someone suitable to guide him in learning foreign languages. "I am still looking for a teacher; there were a few yesterday, but none of them seem okay to me," he concluded.
