Widely Referred to as 'Thomas Alva Edi Sound', Memed Potensio's Story of Joining Brewog Audio

During an interview with the KapanLagi.com team in Blitar, on Thursday (14/8), Memed revealed that he has known the sound system world for quite a long time.

"In the Sound World, since 2007. 2007 was coincidentally when my father was also involved in the Sound World. So, after school back then, I would go home and help my dad," he explained.

Mas Memed's skills are beyond doubt; he has been self-taught about audio since elementary school. This sound operator really is extraordinary.

As time went by, Memed met Mas Bre, the owner of Brewog Audio, in 2018. Since then, he has joined and started participating in carnivals up to the present day.

"In the past, Mas Bre actually already had an operator, Kak. But the operator also has his own sound, so it wouldn't make sense for us to hire someone if his sound is playing," concluded Mas Memed.

"Then, when I first came here, I was actually in charge of the lighting mixer. Then there was a job, coincidentally Mas Bre's operator couldn't make it, so he asked me if there was any event or if I was free, if I was free, I should come here to help. That was the first time I handled the audio mixer until now," he continued.

Mas Memed also shared about Mas Bre, who turns out that once he trusts someone, he will always maintain working with them. "Even if that person can't or hasn't mastered it yet, Mas Bre won't let go, so it's okay, you can't do it, just learn, keep learning, eventually you'll get better," he said.

In the early days of joining Brewog audio, of course, adjustments were needed. It's normal for Mas Memed to experience difficulties. "The difficulty is following Mas Bre's wishes, he has his own character. Mas Bre's character is unique, not possessed by other sound owners, that's how it is," said Mas Memed.

However, now both are on the same frequency. Mas Memed understands Mas Bre's desires. "Maybe from the character of the voice, and before there was also this, Mas Bre wanted it like this, I wanted it like this, so there was some friction. But now we are in sync," he added.
