Yasamin Jasem plays the lead role in the film LEMBAYUNG, which marks Baim Wong's directorial debut. She portrays a nursing student who undergoes an internship at a haunted clinic.

Although she often acts in horror films, for this particular offer, Yasamin Jasem needed to think carefully because the demands of the role were said to be quite challenging.
"I thought for a long time (to accept the role of Arum). I was afraid of the character," said Yasamin at the KLY Youniverse office, Gondangdia area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (28/8/2024).
"I wonder if I can carry this character with all the trauma and events. It took two meetings to talk with Kak Baim until I finally said yes," she continued.
So burdened by the character Arum in the film LEMBAYUNG, Yasamin Jasem even asked Baim Wong to switch roles. However, it turned out that other roles were just as challenging.
"I once said I wanted to be Pika. At that time, I thought the character Pika wouldn't be that challenging. But all characters have equal challenges. Until I finally felt sure, I thought it was fate," added Yasamin.
When I finally got involved in the film LEMBAYUNG, it turned out there was no reading process as usual. Fortunately, Yasamin Jasem is friends with Taskya Namya, so they had the chance to meet and find chemistry as a pair of friends.
"Even though I didn't meet all the cast members, luckily we did our homework at home. Like me and Kak Taskya, even though we didn't do a reading, we met to talk about the friendship between Arum and Pica," Yasamin emphasized.
